Guttering, Fascias & Soffits Repairs
Alongside roof repairs, we also fix and replace gutters, fascias, and soffits. These parts of your roofline play a vital role in moving water away from your property. If they’re damaged, your walls and foundation could suffer.
We restore cracked, leaking, or broken gutters, as well as worn fascias and soffits, to keep your roofing system working properly and looking neat.

Process
- Safety First: Secure the area and, if necessary, set up scaffolding for safe access.
- Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection to identify the extent of the damage to the fascia boards, soffits, and underlying timber, as well as the roof’s felt underlay.
- Material Choice: Determine if the repair will involve timber or UPVC, considering the need for low maintenance or a traditional look.
- Remove Roof Tiles:Carefully remove the bottom row or two of roof tiles to expose the fascia and felt.
- Remove Fascia, Soffits, and Guttering:Disconnect and remove the old, damaged fascia boards, soffit panels, and guttering.
- Remove Damaged Timber & Felt:Cut out and remove any rotten timber or damaged pieces of the roof felt or underlay between the rafters.
- Support Structure:Install necessary support structures, such as noggins (small pieces of timber), to provide adequate support for the new soffit boards against the wall.
- Install New Support System:Fit UPVC supports or other appropriate supports along the length of the roofline where required.
- Attach Soffit Boards:Fix the new soffit panels into place, ensuring proper ventilation for the roof space by using purpose-made slotted soffit boards.
- Attach Fascia Boards:Secure the new, solid fascia boards to the rafters, ensuring they are correctly aligned and can bear the weight of the gutters.
- Incorporate Ventilation:Install the plastic felt tray or eaves protection system (EPS) over the new vents to allow rainwater to drain into the gutter and fit bird guards to the top of the felt trays.
- Install Gutter Brackets:Attach the new gutter brackets securely to the new fascia boards, giving a slight pitch to facilitate water flow into the downpipes.
- Reinstall Tiles:Carefully reseat the previously removed roof tiles back into their correct position.
- Clean and Seal:Clean the new fascia, soffits, and gutters with a suitable solvent cleaner.
- Mastic Seal:Apply sealant or mastic to the soffit and brickwork to ensure a neat and watertight finish.
